About FarNest

FarNest is a guide to regional Australia built one region at a time. For each region it brings together where to stay, things to do and what's on, so a trip can be planned in one place.

How places get listed

Accommodation, attractions and events are researched from public sources — operators' own websites, official tourism information, public event listings and published booking pages — and checked before they're shown. Being listed is free and nobody pays to appear.

How stays are ordered

Hosts who have connected their booking system with FarNest are shown first, because we can show their details and take guests straight to them. After that, stays are ordered by guest rating, weighted by how many reviews stand behind it — so a 4.9 from hundreds of guests ranks above a 5.0 from a handful.

Booking

FarNest doesn't take bookings or payments. When you choose a stay, we send you to the host's own booking system or the stay's booking site, where dates, prices and payment are confirmed.

Photos

A business or stay is only ever shown with its own photography — from its own website, its published booking page, its public business listing (credited), or photos it has given us. Landscapes and public places may use licensed tourism photography, credited on the page.

Something wrong?

If a detail is wrong or a place has closed, tell us and we'll fix it. Hosts can claim their property to correct it themselves.
