Witches Falls National Park

Witches Falls holds the distinction of being Queensland's first declared national park, protected since 1908, and forms one of the key sections of Tamborine National Park on the Tamborine Mountain plateau. The park centres on a 3.3-kilometre circuit track that winds through pockets of subtropical rainforest, taking visitors past towering piccabeen palms, staghorn ferns, and ancient bunya pines before reaching the park's namesake waterfall. The falls themselves are modest in scale—more delicate cascade than thundering plunge—but the surrounding forest creates a cool, shaded retreat that feels worlds away from the coastal plains visible in the distance.
